Galleygirl's Pad Thai posted by Ron in Worcester. This is so good and I didn't miss the tamarind.

I used the last of my bean sprouts, ground some arbol chiles for the chili powder and added about 1/4 lb thinly sliced pork loin, adding it to the wok before adding the shrimp. Is this in tried and true? I couldn't find it.

I see both Nan and Deb have raved about it.

Ang suggested it go in T & T back in Jan. '07 but no one did. I see Denice also made it. Won't you

do the honors and post it here too please?

Tamarind is so sweet. I made a pad thai one time and found it to be too sweet but then, I may have put in too much tamarind paste as I didn't have the juice and it was hard to approximate my substitute.

It's on my "go to" list!! Lime is good sub for tamarind, but if you find it, is is different.
