Just us two, so not too exciting, copy cat soft pretzels, popper dip, Tyler Florence fried chix

Auntie Anne's Pretzels

1 1/2 cups warm water
1 1/8 tsp. active dry yeast
2 Tbs. brown sugar
1 1/8 tsp. salt
1 cup bread flour
3 cups all-purpose flour (I use 4 cups bread flour)
2 cups warm water
2 Tbs. baking soda
4 Tbs. butter, melted
1/2 cup sugar mixed with 1 tsp. cinnamon or coarse salt or garlic
butter

Sprinkle yeast in warm water in mixing bowl. Stir to dissolve. Add sugar and stir to dissolve. Add flour and salt and knead dough until smooth and elastic. Let rise at least 1/2 hour until doubled in size. While dough is rising, heat 2 cups water and 2 Tbs. baking soda; stir often.

After dough has risen, divide it into 12 balls. Roll each ball into a rope about 1/2" or less thick and shape. Using a skimmer, dip pretzel into soda solution and place on greased baking sheet. Bake in preheated 450°F oven for about 10 minutes or until golden. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle on desired topping

Go Seahawks! I'm very excited but it's just the 2 of us. I'm making

what I call Southwestern Soup, a recipe a friend gave me many years ago, and black bean tostadas for earlier in the day. And then game time will just be hummus with pita wedges and crab in cocktail sauce over a block of cream cheese with crackers. Let's Go Seahawks!

Southwestern Soup

2 tablespoons butter
1 bunch scallions -- chopped
1 yellow pepper -- chopped
1 clove garlic -- minced
4 to 5 jalapeno peppers -- seeded and chopped
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon sage
1/2 teaspoon cumin
1# ground chicken
3 tablespoons butter
1/4 cup flour
2 cans Northern beans
1/2 cup cream
2 cups chicken broth
cayenne pepper
white pepper

Heat butter in large pot and saute vegetables and seasonings until tender. Add chicken and cook till just done. Remove mixture and set aside.

In same pan, melt butter; add flour and whisk until smooth. Slowly add cream while whisking and cook until smooth and thick. Add chicken broth and stir until blended. Stir in beans and chicken mixture. Simmer 30 minutes. Adjust seasonings and serve with grated cheese.

#GoHawks! We're having my mom's crab puffs, 2 loaves (yes 2) of crack bread, and pulled pork sliders

and I'm pretty sure my friend is bringing Buffalo Chicken Dip. Going to be finished cooking by 3:00 and then it's eyes on the game!
