So, here we are, almost settled in our new country, and we're upside down!!

There are kangaroos bouncing around the streets, koalas in every treetop, and platypus deliver your groceries...

HA!

We're in Melbourne now and it's a great city! The makets are great, I don't have enough hands to carry all the fresh produce and meat and fish and... and...

Temp housing, so the kitchen facilities are limited, meaning I don't have all my stuff or books, but I'm making the best of it, and trying a lot of restaurants in the process.

Gomez the puppy is still in quarantine, (11 more nights to go and he will be free) but he is well and bouncy when we go to see him.

Stopped in HK on the way over and ate chinese food for b'fast, lunch and dinner for a whole week and now we are having a little rest from it!

That's it from the other side of the world!

I'm happy to hear you are getting established in your new home. How awful for poor little Gomez to be in quarantine. Good to hear he's being a little trooper about it. Probably harder on you than on him!

How exciting! New country, new city, new markets, a great adventure. Little Gomez won't even remember quarantine once he's out- especially if he gets to jump around with the 'roos.

I hope it is a great move for you, Sandra- we all look forward to knowing more about Melbourne and all the foods available there.

Marilyn, I don't know if it's the blood rushing to myhead, but I am very pink! The hole in the ozone is for real and the sun is so strong! Put it this way, they don't sell sun lotion that is under 30 spf!

Richard, Gomez will be outin 8 nights! He is being so good, I think it's definitly harder on us than on him!

Hmmmmm I'll have to try a souffle and see where it falls... smileys/wink.gif

 
Most important question Sandra,....

does the water in the loo swirl the other way when you flush??? LOL Congratulations on your move and I hope you get to my favorite beach some day, Bondi. I visit it regularly through their web cam and listen to their radio internet broadcast whenever I can. Do you have parrots in the trees too? or is that just Sydney..

Ahhh the swirl...

I thought it would also, but apparently it's a myth... but I have no way of checking in this flat b/c the toilet flushes like an exploding volcano!

I will get to Bondi in June or July, no worries, and yes, there are parrots in trees, they are flourescent green and make a really loud noise!

SOme very cool little animals around here!
