Get any cookbooks for the holidays? I got cash, with plans to buy a few. Your favorites?

Quantum Leaps Lodge Cookbook - from a Yoga retreat lodge

in Golden, BC. My niece attended a retreat there and raved about the food, especially the maple granola and the Coconut, Tofu and spinach soup.
I've never bought tofu (although I have eaten it in restaurants). I'm looking forward to trying some of the recipes. Definitely out of my norm - and therefore a great start to a New Year.

Yes, I do see myself cooking from this book. I find it fascinating. Bitter is special. With

reference to Rowan's Book, it is a Beautiful Book filled with Beautiful pictures and knowledge beyond belief. Recipes are scant. This is a wonderful reference book.

No cookbooks, but I bought myself a pressure cooker...

and will be hunting for good recipes to try!
Also, if anyone has a good way to convert my current recipes into pressure cooker friendly ones, I'm all ears!

I bought DH a GranPappy fryer. Every once in awhile I want fried salmon or halibut. This should

Make it easier

I absolutely LOVE my PC for "what it does"--shortens cooking

time for things that may need long cooking. Bean soups, stews, shanks, etc. I have had beef stew on the table from start to finish (just my normal recipe) in an hour total. What size do you have?

I also rec'd a pressure cooker. Instant Pot. I have taken it out the box, but I admit, I am a

a lil intimidated by it. My intent today is to experiment w/ it. (After I clean up from our Post Christmas Party!) I also have been perusing the hip pressure cooking website. You may also enjoy looking through Pinterest. I was surprised by the number of recipes there.

Happy New Year and Happy Pressure Cooking!

That's a great size--anything smaller than 6 qts is really

too small--you can only fill them to a point.
Think aout some short ribs or lamb shanks in your size. Love split pea soup, bean soups of all kinds.
A friend did meat loaf in hers, using the insert. Steam a whole head of cauliflower.
