Gina De Palma's (Babbo's) -- Venetian Apple Cake from Big City, Little Kitchen

Could I use Masa Harina for the cornmeal? I know they've added lime or something to that, but

I hate to buy more corn products. I only like coarse-ground polenta and that's what I have, besides the masa.

 
MarilynFL, Everything I've read states not to substitute as the product is processed differently

than cornmeal and will yield a very different result in the recipe.

What if you whirled the coarse ground polenta in the processor to make it finer????
