Going to attempt to make a test run of the deviled chick eggs tonight. Wish me

Thanks Erin. I fell in love with the humor and thoughtfulness of their webpage

that I just purchased a lip tint for $5. Shipping was only $2.50!

Thank you for introducing them to me. Love to support small businesses!

Thanks Gay. I found that the yolk mixture was waaaay too

"wet" and next time I would just combine a tiny amount of mayo with the mashed-up yolks and roll up the mixture into a ball to place back into the white bottom. If it's fluid enough to pipe, it's too wet. The poor little chickens fall all over the place!

Also, had several other problems, including uncentered yolks(!) which made digging them out a little difficult (and tearing the whites), and when they boiled, they cracked, which sent part of the whites shooting out of the shell (resulting in crazy-looking veins in the whites!).

Here is the BEST one I ended up with, if you can believe that! Better luck next time.(

I want to try these too. I make the olive penguins for Christmas, so my friends saw these chicks

and posted on Facebook that it looks like something I would make, so I shouldn't disappoint. I always boil more eggs than I need, and then I use 1 or 2 whole eggs that didn't peel well, and add those to the yolks and mash it all together. those cooked whites add some stability to the yolk mixture.

link to lots of pictures. I made the igloo too. used the frilly toothpiks so they were puffins

one year I made a winterscape with blue jello for the sea ice with sharks buried in it and cream cheese ice floes with the penguins sitting all over the "ice". was very cute! green olives cut in half make very cute watch cap type hats, and thin strips of roasted red pepper make superb scarves. too fun.

link is for pictures on the web---I can't find any of mine at the moment

Cute!! So let me guess...you split one side of the giant olive and stuff with cream cheese

Then cut a wedge out of the carrot which you use for the beak. Then put a smaller olive on top and skewer through? I

that's it! you can flavor the cream cheese. put it in a ziplock and snip end for more control

what happens though is that no one wants to be the first to eat one---too cute to eat.

You're welcome, Deb. smileys/smile.gif

I'm a big fan of their aluminum-free deod, and I have a couple of the lip balms/tints. Great stuff!

(Sorry, this is probably the most NFRC-related post I've ever written here!) smileys/wink.gif
