Going to see Anthony Bourdain tonight.

Sarah, I was filmed on an episode with Tony & I never got a chance to ask him...

What did he think when the sommalier served Boon's Farm wine (the cheap $3 stuff we drank in college) at the Underground Restaurant dinner in Seattle?

Tony's also a great conversationalist and asked a ton of questions about what your last meal on earth would be. I'm curious to hear what his would be.

Also, towards the end of the meal, he pulled out a jar of vegemite for us all to try. Was that some kind of housewarming? I don't know. Now I'm curious to hear what his favorite gift to bring is.

Asked the first question - didn't go to mike, just yelled it out.

It was a great show. I really admire his ability to entertain and answer questions.
I asked Tony Bourdain " if Sandra Lee invited you and your family to dinner, what would you bring a a hostess gift?". Answer " I would not f...ing go to her house let alone subject my family to that. You have left a horrible image in my brain". Pretty successful question I think.

Sarah, that's awesome! We had drinks with him after his show in Seattle

and there were 10 of us. Someone got so excited, they knocked his beer out of his hand. Then this girl kept trying to get a good photo in bad light and tried at least a dozen times. Finally to give Tony a break, I took her photo. The expression on Tony's face is priceless!

Curious to know, did someone in the audience ask, "What's your favorite place to eat in our town?"

Yeah? Well about midway through any one of my events, you can find me in the bathroom...

fighting back tears of relief and the desire to crawl up into a ball!

Monday, I'll be moderating a panel discussion at the Commonwealth Club in SF -- a longtime dream of mine. I just learned it will be broadcast on the radio and have been sent a script for that. Agh! As if corraling the conversation for 4 people wasn't challenging enough....Just before and after the event, I'll be seeking divine inspiration in the bathroom! The inner dialog goes something like this: "Good lord, the things you get yourself into! Why couldn't you be content with a simple life????" Okay, that's really my mother talking...but at that moment, it actually resonnates with me. smileys/smile.gif

LOL! That's the most often asked question for authors and I find it so annoying...people have no

idea how crazy book tour schedules are, or how fortunate they are to eat ANYTHING, let alone something fabulous while they're in town. Better to have the author turn the question back on the audience, "Where should I eat?" smileys/smile.gif
