and with pet insurance we can do this.
Last Wednesday 2 things happened: Libby had her first chemo and did good ~ believe it or not this whole week she actually gained 1 1/2 pounds ~ they gave us prednizone to give Libby, which is helping ~ and she needs fats so bacon grease with crumbled bacon in her food helps a whole lot.
2nd is we went to the Humane Society and adopted a new member ~ a pointer, beagle-terrier mix ~ he is so cute with his floppy big big ears and he is just the perfect companion for Sunny to play with ~ he is a little sick but medicine is helping him he is 8 1/2 weeks old and my experience has been when we adopt from the Humane Society those puppies are usually a little sick ~ His name is SNOOPY RED BARON (cute huh ~ we always wanted to name a dog Snoopy) and he lives up the Red Baron part ~ and he is so smart already he doesn't bother Libby and is gentle but boy he sure does jump all over Sunny and Sunny is gentle and gives it back.
Libby seems happier, I think because of the new puppy ~ she is trying to mother him and she has a new interest ~ plus all her eating is good ~ so good that she played for a few minutes on Sunday with the other dogs.
The best we can hope for is 2 to 4 more years with Libby doing chemotherapy ~ more like a bit over 2 but we're praying for 4 more years.
Here's the weird thing~ I am a cancer survivor ~ Oct 18 will be 23 yrs for me ~ here's the weird part ~ Libby has the same cancer I did and I recognize her chemo meds ~ so when I sympathize with her I really mean it.
