I've had one of these when they were ONLY sold in red--yep, eons ago! I see the co. sells

several different colors now. Cool! This is the only instant-read I use. Its speed and accuracy are unparalleled, IMHO. The battery will last you for a lot of years, too. Am glad to hear you treated yourself to this ultra handy gadget.
Once you get around to buying yourself a food processor, cheezz, you'll be amazed at how fast you can chop, dice, slice, puree & julienne. I couldn't make it through a week without my Cuisinart.
