Gourmet Cookbook Yellow Print Tip

I was going through the Gourmet Cookbook last night at home and was having a horrible time trying to read those yellow titles. I brought it into work today to peruse during lunch and, to my surprise, it was much easier to read in the fluorescent office lighting. The print actually looks darker under the fluorescent lights

Of course, I know it is somewhat brighter in the office as well, but nonetheless, I was surprised at the improvement. I had convinced myself last night that I needed to call the optometrist asap for an appointment!

Looking around the web today, I came across The Gourmet Project

A woman spent a few years cooking every recipe in the book and commented on it. An interesting note is that she did not print any of the recipes but gave you a link, (always to Epicurious, from what I have seen so far) for the recipe, if it was published online. If not, there is no recipe, simply her comments. I wonder why?

The hope is that you buy the book. The Tuesdays with Dorie and French Fridays w/ Dorie

do the same thing. The Chowhound site I linked to earlier has the same policy. They link if the recipe is available online but if not, go into detail about how it's made but not provide the recipe.

Oh my, one thing I do not need anymore of is cookbooks. That is why I am searching recipes from the

book online. Our library has two copies, but I have found the recipes I want to work on. I have donated many cookbooks to the library and finally have room in my dedicated cookbook space here at home to actually be able to take the books in and out easily. It is a good thing!

I ordered a used copy off of Amazon. It appears to be a second printing as

the yellow is more gold and fairly easy to read. Also, the bookmark ribbons are longer than the ones in the article that Curious1 posted.

Can't wait to pick out some recipes to try!!
