Grandkids visited all day yesterday and used my computer. I seem to have lost all the stuff

in my Favorites file. Is there any way I can find it? Grrrr, it's a good thing they are so cute and I love them.

Elenor...here are a couple suggestions I googled:

1. Click on "Start" then "Favorites."

2. Click on the big gold star to the left of the tabs.

3. IF YOU HIT THE REFRESH ICON, TO THE IMMEDIATE RIGHT OF THE ADDRESS BAR, YOUR FAVS WILL RETURN.

Can't test these as my favorites are visible.

Well I tried it but it didn't work. Guess the kids completely deleted it somehow. But I did learn

something new. I now know where and what refresh (F-5) is. Thanks Marilyn. Blessed Christmas to you and everyone.

this seems so odd. they would have to delete one by one, wouldn't they? surely they didn't do that

it seems like your favorites must still be there, somewhere.

1st- Look in the Trash-Recyle-Garbage Bin for it, if there...RESTORE! But...

Once in awhile, the Favorites folder crashes. It's sure a pain. Mine did last year. Ever so frustrating. See if there's a RESTORE POINT set in your anti virus software, your operating system or your anti-spyware/malware/adware software. Check them all. Start with the spyware, then the anti-virus program, then the main operating system.
If you can't find anything there, it's time for the Geek Squad.

I'm pretty sure the restore option would only restore the settings...

no any lost files. I know it doesn't delete the new files, so that's why I don't think it would restore the old ones.

Can you do a search (under the start menu) for one of the files that you lost, and see if it's hiding somewhere? Then go to that fold and see if the others are there? If that doesn't work, I'd say call a professional. Good luck. Password next time ;o)

Maybe the file was just moved to another location. Do a search for>>>

*favorites*.*

Search your whole "C" drive.

Not in the Recycle Bin. I had a folder in Favorites called recipes and that whole folder is gone.

I noticed that 2 of the kids game websites are gone too. So maybe they got moved somehow. Oh well, no big deal - New Year - New Recipe file. These were recipes I thought I might like to try.
Thanks Guys.

also, sometimes there are little pluses + next to files and if you click it expands the file so

you can see all that is in it.

Here's another grandkids' computer nightmare..SIL's 4--year old grandson took all of the keys off

of her computer keyboard! Her DH, who was babysitting, watched him do it! She replaced most of the keys, but there was some problem, and she had to hire a techie to fix everything. She was more angry at DH than at the little guy! I think this is really funny, don't you?

Not surprised at all. My husband is in the same category. Was "supposedly" >..

babysitting our two children (30 years ago). I came home from shopping and found ALL the interiors doors wet. Apparently they had a squirt gun fight and he was oblivious to it all !
