Had so much fun surprising a friend today with a little cupcake 'tower' for her birthday...

I used the German Chocolate Cake recipe's filling for the frosting on the cupcakes, and for the actual cupcakes I used the Deep Dark Chocolate Cake - cupcakes bake in exactly 22 min. SOOOO good... and I could eat the filling/frosting with a spoon. The filling seems thin when you make it, but sets up quite nicely by the time it chills.http://eat.at/swap/forum/index.php?action=display&forumid=1&msgid=38465

totally disappointed with the "curls" -- more like messy shreds. the first time I did it -

after all the wonderful suggestions by y'all here (*g*), they came out beautiful and perfectly rolled. I did it with chocolate chips on the back of a cookie sheet. This time I did it on TOP of the cookie sheet because the back is dimpled, and I used Trader Joe's Pound Plus bar, melted, instead -- it wouldn't curl to save my life! Guess I'll stick to the chips - must be a softer chocolate.
