Had such a bad food day.

I've been doing South Beach and had some success (a pair of old jeans fits again), but today was just terrible. I couldn't keep out of anything--chocolate, butter, bread--you name it, I ate it. I feel really terrible and overfull in a really bad way. It's funny how I can be really good with the food for quite a while and then just totally lose my control in the pantry.

But here's what I did right. I had an egg with spinach for breakfast--trying to get vegetables in at breakfast. For lunch I had a turkey sandwich on ONE piece of bread and steamed carrots. And I was successful in preventing myself from having fast food for lunch. I have found that using one of my Chinese tea cups is about the right size for my snacks, so that's kinda fun to use.

Well, as Scarlett said, tomorrow is another day.

I'm in the exact same situation. Congrats on the success, though! Focus on that. smileys/smile.gif We can do it.

Here's some encouragement. We used to encourage our clients that were on weight loss programs...

...to pick a single day every week or two and eat whatever they wanted. We told them to be reasonable on the portions and don't hurt themselves, but if you want pizza, eat pizza. Or ice cream, or whatever!

As long as you get back on the horse the very next day, you won't hardly notice it. Plus, the uncharacteristically large amount of calories coming in on that day force your body to rev up its metabolism to deal with it. That increase actually sticks around for a day or two, so if you get back on your eating plan, you'll be ok.

Don't fret! It's no big deal... really! In some ways it can actually be beneficial.
