I've used spiral hams for parties. The trick is to follow the instructions in the package and

not overcook. Costco does a decent one as does President's Choice.

Especially if you glaze it. We baked ours, rolled in honey and brown sugar, then "crackled" it with a propane torch before serving. The slices are even and easy to carve off the bone.
