Hand blender recommendations, please

I'm finally getting around to buying one. A friend who is a chef warned me off the popular Braun model. My local Williams-Sonoma carries only a fancy Russell Hobbs with numerous whisking, whipping, kneading and mini-processor attachments, which I'm not convinced I'll ever use. Any advice? Thanks.

Shaun, I have the basic Braun and have been happy with it.

Admittedly, I don't use it as often as a chef would, but every soup I pureed so far has worked out beautifully.

And the whip function worked well to prepare small batches of heavy cream.

I haven't tried the chopper feature...the puree option alone has been worth it.

For $30, it definitely served my needs and simplied many soups I avoided because of the puree step.

Bed, Bath & Beyond (where I bought mine two years ago) usually runs a 20% off coupon, so that reduces it even futher.

I like my Braun as well. I used the whisk for a year to make formula, the blender for soups, and

the chopper for small amounts of herbs, onions, etc.

Great tool!

Debbie

I really like my "Professional" Kitchenaid hand blender and use all the attachments. Easy to clean.
