Happy and Safe Memorial Day to Everyone!

BBQ tomorrow. Mexican-themed potluck at my place. No clue what everyone

else is bringing. My contributions are:

Cumin-scented rice
Spicy Citrus Black Beans
Tacos al Pastor w/ Pineapple Salsa
Daisy Martinez's Flan

I received my "Truck Food Cookbook" and love looking through it.

I can see why you are intrigued by some of the sauce recipes. It will be fun making some of these recipes. Thanks for the heads up!

Hi Barb. This recipe was originally post on Gail's by Cyndi (CHY = consider yourself hugged).

Gretchen reposted it as a fan a number of times.

I'm just sayin'.

I've used Cyndi's recipe a number of times, and tweaked it a little here and there. It is great, as written.

Michael

Thanks Michael, good to know. I remember CYH Cin... Fun way to end a post.Anyone heard from her?

Let us know how they are. I am not a big fan of hot avocado.

I have had tortilla soup where they put in chunks of fresh avocado, bleh!

Same here. Not new, but that's what's on the menu. Snappy Grillers are

conies, right? I think. White ones, first served on Coney Island in NYC? I love those, grilled, not crazy about the red ones.

Along with hamburgs on the grill, Thunderbolt potato salad (adapted from Loupie's recipe), probably baked beans (also local), horseradish cole slaw, corn-on-the-cob, and lots of liquor if family comes over (ha ha, only kidding. Just thinking about Dawn_MO's in-laws.) Watermelon and pound cake with strawberries are rounding out the menu tonight.

Okay, that was the plan, but it didn't happen. By the time we had a few

drinks, no one was interested in jumping into this project. LOL! Next time....

Thanks for the recommendation. I'll definitely give it a whirl. Still looking for a collection of

terrific Mexican recipes.
