Happy C day to you all.

Yesterday we attended an outdoor party at the home of friends. Most people wore something red.

Since it was potluck (for the appetizers and sides) there was a great variety of delicious dishes to eat. Our hosts provided BBQed pork tenderloin and dessert which was coconut cake, strawberries and ice cream.

Living in Ottawa there are always plenty of activities, including entertainment on Parliament Hill at noon and again in the evening capped off with fireworks. We usually try to take in something but this year ran out of energy.

Re: kind of you to ask...

I think similar to the U.S. barbeques and parades are popular. For us it is typically a family day. There are fireworks in larger cities - although I don't think they compare to the displays I have seen in the States. In western Canada it looks to be another hot day.

Happy Canada Day to you!! (from a (previous?) landed immigrant)..

don't know if landed immigrant status is with you for life but I lived in Toronto for about 3 years back in the late 80s. It's a great city!!!!!
