Happy Canada Day! I'm grateful for our peaceful border and our friends south of us.

Ditto, one of the best vacations we have taken in our RV..I fell in love with the Rockies

driving along side those huge outcroppings was breath taking. Beautiful country, so much to do and enjoy - even the cabbies were fun! We traveled there twice, each time was great.

Not really. Private BBQs are big. Some cities have public BBQs. Public fireworks.

People wearing red and white. We're not big on the flag in this country but it does wave around on Canada Day. Open-air concerts.

Cancelled.

I got a headache that would not go. Lots of Tylenol 2 and 3 later, I then felt sick as well. I don't think I've ever cancelled dinner on friends. It was a very difficult decision to make.

And it still hasn't left.

Friends have a huge property on the water, a good sized park, with beautiful gardens. Every Canada day they host a party.

Our hosts BBQ huge roast beefs on a spit and guests bring either appies or salads. One guest always brings desserts for the throng. A good time is had by all. There's even a Canadian trivia contest between the men and women. This year the women won. At 10 PM everyone gathers at the beach to watch the fireworks put on by the local community. Then it's hugs and farewells until the next time we gather.
