Happy New Year to all from unusually warm (40 F at 6 AM) Ottawa, Canada.

Cheers to a delicious New Year! (from frost-dusted Seattle, an unusual 24 F at 8 AM)

I can't help but wonder how long before we, in the south, start going north

to get warm?

Again, we are warmer? 34F now, supposed to hit 39 today. We did finally get some snow.

47 degrees here. We feel sorry for our friends that took off to go skiing. Too warm to even

make snow. Funny weather! Although it certainly was warm for those that ventured into the city to watch the ball drop.
Happy New Year!!!

Happy New Year!! And if you're watching the Rose Parade, you know what our weather is smileys/smile.gif

...and from the balmy north! 53 degrees here and warm enough to swim outside -

HA! I knew that would make ya look. Well, at least it was warm enough to chop down the ice at the bottom of the driveway. Happy New Year to all. I fell asleep before midnight, so I missed the ball-drop again this year.

Tonight I made beef enchiladas using Dawn_MO's recipe for creamy chicken ones. With leftover shrimp. And leftover Zinfandel.

I've always wondered, when do you (non-East coasters) celebrate, @ the NYC Times Square ball-drop or

when your own time zone hits midnight? Come to think of it, how do you know exactly when midnight is? Do you have your own countdown? Just curious...

we celebrate at Alaska time midnight---and watch the time delayed shows, if we watch at all.
