Happy New Year to One and All, may you stick to your New Year Resolutions, LOL! (I've already

OH! New Year's night was just super and I wasn't flu-ed up......Maida's Rec: for

her "Queen Mother's Cake" went down well. The recipe calls for Almonds, but I used Hazelnuts as I had them and what a tasty cake it turned out to be.
If anyone wants the recipe I'll post it.
My Mum's cheese biscuits were a great hit...these are so easy:

CHEESE BISCUITS:
2oz Flour
2oz butter
2oz grated Cheddar Cheese
1/4 tsp mustard powder
1/4 tsp salt.

Whizz up in the processor and roll out as thin as possible.
Cut into shapes...she makes rectangles so no re rolling nessary....
Brush with milk.
Bake at 425* for about 7 mins...watch them, they should just be turning golden brown. They are very more-ish.
Var: sprinkle sesame seeds or poppy seeds over them.

She had a wee problem with the cheese we get here on island ie American Cheddar. It seems that the white strong cheddar is wetter than the one she is used to using in S.Africa. She therefore rolled them out a wee bit thicker than she would normally....No-one noticed and they dissappeared so fast she only got one and I had none...OKAYYYY I did sneak one before they were put out, Lol!
I am going to make them with parmesan next time.
