Happy Thanksgiving to all. May your hearts and tummies be full.

And the same to you desertjean. High up on my gratitude list today are the friends and 'family' at

this great forum. After so many years getting to know all of you around the kitchen table, you all feel like family to me. So much to be grateful for today. Blessings to all. Indeed, may your hearts and tummies be full today.

May I share a poignant Thanksgiving moment with you? DH and I sat down to our Thanksgiving meal,

turkey, ham, dressing and veggies, some store-bought and some home-cooked. We have lost family and friends during the past year, and there was no one else at our table today. DH poured us a glass of wine, raised his glass, and said "to those who are not with us this year".

Indeed! I'm also grateful for the friendships that have developed from here! Happy Thanksgiving! smileys/smile.gif

NOW that being said, am I the only one that had a guest that would not leave??? "Love him to death"

but my BIL was not leaving... Slippers were not working for him, he did not get the hint.... Turned lights off, you get it... Eventually, had to just be upfront and say, I am tired! Cooking for days, started this am around 5:30; party is over.... With that, he still took about 30 minutes to leave....

Not my best,

Barb~ : )

Had a couple of folks like that at the reception after my mom's memorial service.

College buddies of my dad--dad finally went to bed; we were literally cleaning up around them before they finally left. I was exhausted from the service (and I had a newborn); I thought they'd never leave.

Happy Belated Thanksgiving to all here! I must say that I am extremely thankful for

everyone here and how much inspiration I have gotten over the years from all of you--especially to try things I thought would be way over my head. But mostly for the opportunity to chat with people from all over the world and get a glimpse into the lives of others--thru love of food! How lucky am I!
