Happy turkey day to everyone on the other side of that border.

Now this is weird. In Canada now, we have Black Friday sales, following your Thanksgiving. I think

this is a first. You're right. This sure has become a commercial event and it's crept across the border.

I do not understand this and why people do this to themselves.

Friday we will be tucked in, feasting on leftovers, putting up the Christmas tree (the Maryland family won't be here for Christmas so we're combining the holidays and are doing Christmas on Saturday with them).

Mall? Not so much.

And BTW, people are already talking about leftover Russian potato casserole potato cakes fried in butter for breakfast tomorrow.

knock, knock.... who's there? Barb asking for some russian potato pancakes fried in butter : )

It's been building every year in Canada - the rationale is that it's supposed to try to keep>>

Canadians shopping on our side of the border, but I think it's equally about just jumping on the bandwagon and creating a "frenzy".

I don't think it's keeping anyone on the north side of the border. I drove to town yesterday

and on the freeway (I live south of Vancouver, BC) I only saw 4 other cars with WA plates in the 10 mile stretch. Every other car had BC plates. Crazy!
