Has anyone else noticed the downhill trend in fresh broccoli? For the last several months,

the broccoli has been dry inside. The outside is nice and dark green, but when I cut it open, it's a light yellow to off-white. In the past, it's always been green all the way through, and nice and sweet - now it's got very little taste. I've tried several different stores, and there's no difference. (It's all CA broccoli).

That's very disheartening - I thought it might be fresher for you, since you live

much closer to the source.

Yes, have noticed the same thing! When I buy it, I really need to use it the same day. Makes it a

challenge. It gets yellow and light green on day 2. dh really enjoys broccoli, so I get bummed that I can't throw it in my normal weekly shopping (groceries to be used during the week, vs. that day!)

I know many, many parts of the country are still in a pretty bad drought and others

have suffered flooding. Maybe that is why.

Broccoli is good but HEB (practically the only game in town) doesn't have broccoli rabe. I did see

it at whole foods but it was really in bad shape. I asked at HEB why they didn't have it and they said it came in such bad condition they quit ordering it. I'm addicted to broccoli rabe, I hope the situation is remedied soon!
