Has anyone else tried Passage Foods' *Street Kitchen Kits*?

Saw them at WALMART in the Ethnic Food Aisle.

At $2.50 a package, you get a dry spice blend, a bag of liquid marinade and a bag of sauce. Serves 4.

My store had a variety of Mexican, Indian and various Oriental flavor kits (Chinese, Thai, Mandalay, Vietnamese).

You add chicken, veggie and carb of choice. Made the Moroccan Lemon Chicken yesterday which used 1.3 oz of boneless chicken, sliced onions and should have been served over couscous but instead we made red quinoa. This weekend we'll try the Vietnamese Lemongrass which uses 1.3 oz of chicken, a sweet red bell pepper and will be served over jasmine rice.

Oh, and it was done in 20 minutes. It was fine...could have used a bit more salt and a tad more spice, but really can't beat that for ease of preparation. Especially if you don't own a lot of spices >> this does the work for you.

I haven't seen that brand...

but when I do find kits to make ethnic meals, the sodium content i usually so high that I put it right back on the shelf.

So, since you thought it could have used more salt, so you know what the sodium was on the label?

I checked the nutrition values yesterday, not sure which kit it was for

but the salt content was 650 mg which may be too high for those who have to watch salt content. The numbers are probably different each kit.

The one you linked wasn't totally off the charts...

but would be high for folks who need to keep intake around 2000 mg a day.

I'll keep an eye open for them and look more closely if I find them.

These kits would be great for folks who have rented a cabin and want to do some light cooking,

college kids too, who live in a house.
