Has anyone every heard of or used a Himalayan Salt Plate?

Was at SurLaTable today and took a look at it. It was SUPER heavy, as you can

imagine - shipping by weight would be a problem if you couldn't get one local.
I liked the idea of chilling it and putting cold appetizers on it. Neat idea.
Also, for bar-b-que. Just wondering how long it would last before it started to dissolve.
I asked the staff, but they didn't know.
