I picked out some green beans at my supermarket two days ago. I hand pick smaller, straight ones.
After I got them home and was putting into a zip lock veggie bag, I noticed a strong, almost chemical smell. This morning I took them out of the bags, washed and took off the ends, then dropped into boiling water for 5 minutes. The strong smell was awful. They taste like a green bean but so strong. I am mixing them with roasted red and yellow bell peppers and onions with some EVOO, salt and pepper. I hope they don't ruin the dish.
