Has anyone heard from CathyZ? Is she okay with flooding on her island?

Just heard from Cathy. She said...

"We are ok. No internet yet, just got phone back. 28" of rain in 24 hrs was incredible. Lightening and thunder for over 7 hrs. House shook the whole time. Our road is closed, many people lost everything. Incredible."

I asked if there's anything we can do to help. She said...

"Nothing anybody can do. Roads all over the north shore wiped out including on our road.. another storm coming. It has been raining almost non-stop since November. We are on high ground so don't worry about me.â¤ï¸"

Our thoughts are with you, Cathy!

Whew, thappy for Cathy. Thanks for letting us know.Sad time for a lot of folks that are homeless now

Thanks everyone for the kind thoughts. Finally have internet and phone service back.

We had 30" of rain at our house in 24 hours. Thunder and lightening on top of us for over 7 hours. Roads fell apart, mountainsides slipped down over the roads, cars, animals swept away- some houses too. Here is a link to our local paper site that shows some photos

Thanks for your kind thoughts- I really do appreciate it. Another storm coming in today and tomorrow- same front circled around and is coming back for more. Hope it is not as bad.

30 inches!!!! That is crazy. So glad you have power and internet again!

hope your fridge is all stocked up too. The photos from the paper are just incredible, I wonder how much rain they got on top of the mountain?

Unbelievable. Last year...

when we visited, it rained forever for two days, the bridge down into Hanalei was underwater, but nothing like this. I cannot even imagine. I think we got 17 inches that day. That night when we listened to the rain, I kept thinking of that Joan Crawford movie "Rain." That was not adequate. When it rains in Kauai. Look out.

So glad you are safe Cathy!!!
