Has anyone heard from Mark in Houston? Just wondering if he weathered Ike or had to evacuate.

FYI, A friend from Houston called me yesterday; power is out all over

so that might be why we haven't heard. I hope he Mark is ok.

 
Yep, power is out, but we had a cold front come in, so at least they are not roasting!

Western areas (Sugar Land, Katy) have power, but gas is short, most stores that are open don't even have charcoal.

 
Isn't it just dreadful! I wonder what it will take for the powers to make some real changes to our

industrial world.

 
My cousin finally went to check on his home in Memorial. Trees down everywhere, no

power -- and no sound of chainsaws. It will take a looonnng time to fix this. Another cousin works for Reliant -- the power company. His computer at work was soaked. He lives near Rice University -- still no power and little hope of it returning soon.
