Has anyone made Dorie Greenspan's World Peace cookies? I want a cookie

Oh yes, those are yummy! Made them about...

7 or 8 years ago from the recipe at the link (the old version does not have the chocolate chunk addition which Dorie's 'new' recipe has). I used to work with a chef who had worked at a popular local chocolate café which made these cookies then turned them into a sandwich cookie spread with caramel in the middle for a caramel-filled chocolate sable cookie. Ohmygoodness, those were good. I used to buy them (at $2.25 EACH). Didn't make them with caramel myself but want to some time.

I highly recommend using good quality cocoa (such as Scharffen Berger or Valrhona or another), it'll make all the difference in the flavor.

I agree. Dorie is one of the most delightful people on the planet. In the early days of

my group, Cook the Book, we used to Skype with the authors. I sent Dorie a quick email asking if she'd be willing. She said she'd love to, but she'd be in Paris. During the time we meet, it would be Midnight her time. I thanked her anyway. She wrote me back, "Let's do it!" I couldn't believe it.
When we spoke, she had one of those cute short scarves around her neck like they wear in France. Her's was stars and stripes!
Love that woman to the moon and back.

Sweet! I love how personable she is. Have worked with a

number of cookbook authors and celebrity chefs over the years (assisting at their classes) and many of them made wonderful lasting impressions such as what you experienced with Dorie. She's a gem.
