Has anyone made Southern Living's *Bacon & Cheddar Grits Quiche*?

I was going through an old magazine (2014) and this full-size image KEEPS HAUNTING ME. No matter how I pick up this magazine, it opens to THIS PAGE.

On the other hand, I just had blood drawn for my cholesterol and haven't received the results. So bacon AND eggs AND cheese AND butter AND half & half AND heavy cream should--you know--maybe not be on my radar.

But it is. What can I say...I'm a dairy slut.

Please...someone tell me they've made this and that it is TERRIBLE. HORRIBLE. A WASTE OF TIME, MONEY AND CALORIES.

Well, it does serve 10. You could use whole milk in place of thee cream.

I am not really sure how that grits crust would work. It is a gorgeous presentation for a brunch, but..... Not sure about the crust.

Does that help!!

Actually, I have no idea but you wanted me to tell you that. smileys/wink.gif) It's sounds good though. Happy jingle bells!

On the other hand, NOW would B the perfect time 2 make & eat that quiche, ie, B4 yr lipid blood pan-

el results come back. That is my way of thinking! Keep in mind that this suggestion comes from someone who is slowly but SURELY polishing off the leftover Pumpkin Cheesecake w/ Cognac Sour Cream Topping from our Thanksgiving feast--single-handedly, no less.

DH doesn't like cheesecake so I made him a box mix chocolate cake with cherry pie filling in it. His favorite, sigh. I know it's nearly impossible to imagine someone opting for a box mix over homemade cheesecake baked in a water bath, but he was raised on canned peas or canned corn as the vegetable side choice, and he still prefers vegs from the can. UGH.
