I've seen a few slow cooker recipes on the TV shows on PBS, and they seem to use it more as a part of the process, rather than, "put everything in the slow cooker and voila!". Maybe the book is different, but I sometimes wondered, when watching the show, why not just braise it?
I'd be interested in seeing the book before deciding whether or not to purchase it.
