Has anyone tried Colavita pasta? Barilla is my favorite, but I'm wondering what Colavita is like.

I have tried all the upscale pastas we get in our area, and really

I cannot tell any difference. Barilla, Colavita, and one or two others. If there is a difference, it is slight.

 
Same here.....

I end up buying Barilla most of the time, but mainly because the grocery stores here carry a huge selection of shapes from the brand.

 
I've found that different brands vary in texture, and I always cook them al dente. For example, I

find De Cecco to be thicker/denser than Barilla, and some other brands to be thinner. I prefer Barilla's medium texture.

 
I buy fresh but they don't have all the shapes. The Italians(in Italy)whom I know prefer Barilla.

 
I love Barilla's mini pastas. Especially their bow tie. It makes such a wonderful pasta salad.

 
I wondered about these. I go for anything "mini", but just haven't tried these yet. we're eating

more of the whole grain pastas these days. will try these mini's now.
