M meryl Well-known member Jan 17, 2012 #6 I've found that different brands vary in texture, and I always cook them al dente. For example, I find De Cecco to be thicker/denser than Barilla, and some other brands to be thinner. I prefer Barilla's medium texture.

E elaine Well-known member Jan 17, 2012 #7 I buy fresh but they don't have all the shapes. The Italians(in Italy)whom I know prefer Barilla.
