Has anyone tried navel oranges from South Africa? It looks like the navels from CA

are not coming in anymore. One of my supermarkets is selling them from S. Africa, and I'm wondering if I should try them.

I recommend: . . .

Buying on or two oranges, pick the heaviest ones for their size, they should be on the firm side (not rock hard or soft, just slightly soft), the darkest, most even orange color you can find (NO GREEN on a navel) and then go out to your car and taste. If they ain't tasty, don't buy any more, better yet, take the orange(s) back to your store and ask for your money back and tell them WHY you want the money back.

Sorry, I am tired of bad fruit in stores!

Good for you Mistral, I do the same thing.....I have returned

fresh fruits with no questions asked, and I get my money back.

Can't do it - they come in a 3-lb bag. I'm gonna buy them anyway & return the whole bag if they suck

Well, I bought them, and will be returning them tomorrow. They're terrible. They're

juicy, but tasteless and pale - they look like lemons inside. Virtually no taste whatsoever. The company is Roxy. Feh!
