Has anyone tried the Aeropress espresso/coffee maker?

My sister told me about it and I got one from Amazon and it makes pretty nice coffee- not espresso in my mind. But finally I can make a cup og coffee before dashing out the door. But it uses a lot of grounds to my thinking, especially when I have splurgy high-end coffee that a dear friend gave me.

The funny thing is that it is made by a company that makes games and toys, like bean bag launchers! Anyway, just wondering if anyone here has tried it or if it is considered just another goofy gadget.
