Has anyone tried the ATK summer berry trifle recipe?

The link is only accessible if you're a member. That said, I'd say go for it!!

I have only tried one or two of their recipes that I didn't particularly care for, and that was probably my own taste buds, not their fault. You can hardly go wrong with trifles no matter what you do to them smileys/smile.gif

thanks

Let's compare notes next week!

I'm trying to decide if I need a trifle bowl. I have a glass salad bowl that I think is a little wider and shorter. Everything would probably fit but it wouldn't be as dramatic a presentation.

Try putting the salad bowl on a cake pedestal, with a pretty napkin to stabilize the bowl smileys/smile.gif

cyalexa2! I poked around on the "Test Kitchen" site and found a video that gives all the amounts

of the Summer Berry Trifle PLUS a complete demo on how to make all its parts and how to assemble. I jotted down the ingredient amounts as I watched. Looks absolutely mouth-watering!

Also on this same video is 'How to Make a Peach Pie' with a process I've never in my life seen before. After peeling 3 pounds of peaches & cubing, they removed 1 cup and mashed those with a fork. Then they drained the rest of the peaches, saving 1/2 cup of peach juice. The juice was put into a skillet and cooked along with thickeners and sugar & spices before it was added back into the cubed peaches and also put the 1 cup of mashed peaches back in at this point. Their pie crust recipe was pre-made so no specific ingredients for it, but everything else for the filling was included along with specific amounts and types/brands. They demo'ed a lattice top crust. I've watched the whole video containing both the trifle and the peach pie twice now. VERY INTERESTING. The URL is below. If you can't get it to work the first time, just keep clicking around and keep trying to start it as I finally got the thing to run beautifully. I have no on-line ATK subscription to anything, but this sure worked for me!
PS: I'm very excited as I feel like I've really gotten away with something! Smile. Wigs

thanks for sharing that

Are you going to try either recipe? I'm making the trifle tomorrow to serve Sat. Will report.

No immediate plans 2 try either, but I'm already thinking about either drizzling over -OR-

folding into the whipped cream layer a little melted white chocolate so I could use this recipe at the annual Taste of Chocolate festival that will roll around in February. I've done that with my Strawberry Cheesecake Trifle I posted way back when, and it worked great. See link below for that recipe.

I'll be looking forward to reading how your Trifle comes out for this weekend!
