Has anyone tried this bread baker by Lekue? I got it and hope to try soon.

Since my apartment has a dearth of usable or level counter space I thought kneading in the bowl would be handy, if I didn't use the mixer, and the large capacity for measuring seems cool. A friend on Facebook made the brioche bread that comes with the recipe and the loaf was a pleasant round shape, perfect for regular deli meat. I still want to try that dried cherry Guinness bread. When I can use the oven, that is...http://www.amazon.com/dp/B007F6EN96/ref=pe_385040_30332190_TE_dp_1

I have what sorta looks like a tooth and a seriously numb mouth.

Since my insurance didn't cover a crown, she put pins in the tooth and made a new section out of filling stuff. We shall see what it's like once the meds wear off.

I'm eating pudding now, so far so good. Here's hoping your appt goes well too!

So my question to you is, don't you have a big mixing bowl?

I mean this is interesting in that you can bake in it, but how do you get steam? The corners are open.

For some reason I'm thinking you have a KA too, am I right? I happen to be making bread today and I did 5 mins in the KA, use a oiled mixing bowl to rise (could do everything in it though) - I don't knead, I use Tartine's style and do folds instead. Then it's shape, basket or not, and bake using my DO or an inverted rimmed baking sheet covered with a wet roasting pan lid for steam.

While this is interesting, I'm not really seeing a need, but you must tell us how you like it when it arrives.

Is your shoulder the reason you can use the oven yet?

I was very intrigued by this....

so I decided to search for blogs that used it to see how it worked out for them.

I must say that I am unimpressed - it is potentially a nice idea, but I did not care for the crumbs I saw - which could be more a reflex of poor technique - but what is worse is that I did not care for the crust. Now, I realize that they recommend removing the bread in the final stage of baking to allow it to bake free and get a crispier crust. Still, from my point of view, it is something you can achieve with any baking dish you have, like the wet inverted roasting pan

So, I guess I am not spending the money on this one...smileys/wink.gif

Nevermind, just read your blog post...

So know why the oven is difficult for you - can you pull over a chair to use it? admit I didn't try using my wall oven when I couldn't walk either.

You know I can come up and help you some time too. We could even have a Eat.At local meet-up are your place to pitch in and cook or something. Trust me, I know what it's like being stuck at home and having to rely on others. This was me a yr ago:
