Hatch Green chile lovers, in Nor Cal Mollie Stone's are roasting

them outside the store at several locations. They might be doing it at other Mollie Stone's locations in other states. Worth a check. I got some at my local store today. You buy the fresh inside and then bring them out and they throw in the roaster. Only takes a few minutes.

I noticed it in the weekly ad that comes with the paper.

they had 2 roasters going

It was from 1-4 and I got there around 2 and only 1 person ahead of me.
It doesn't take long at all. A lot of people just watching what was going on.
They were selling hatch cookbooks and had samples of cornbread made with them.

That is so cool that some stores do that. The ones here do not, but we rather enjoy doing it.

And better to do it yourself. Stores with roasters here put them in plastic bags while they're

still hot and they over heated and get mushy.

I always use paper bags, for that reason.

I guess they can't sell them in paper bags but they should let them cool before bagging.
