Hate to be the bearer of sad news.....*sigh

Well-known member
Steven, Harriet's (MisplacedinAZ) son just called with the sad news of his mother's passing on Monday evening. She had rallied over the weekend and had lucid times in which to be with the family, as often happens. (isn't God good to give us that?)

Steven asked me to relay to you all how very much everyone on the FinerKitchens family had meant to his mom. He said every day she would have a story from here to share in the evening. smileys/smile.gif Her name said it all - Misplaced. She missed NH and wasn't really happy living in AZ. Steven said she made most of her social life around this wonderful family of friends. He said to relay how much every card, note and photo meant to her. She saw each correspondence sent and they meant so very much to her. She and Bob had a good life together and had a loving family.

Steven said that Harriet's life long desire was to be cremated with no formal service. She didn't want people to weep over her so they are following her wishes and at a later date he and his sister Kelly will each have some of her ashes and he will take some back to her beloved NH and spread the ashes over the ocean that she loved so much. (the kids were all raised there)

Harriet and Bob would have celebrated 57 years of marriage this year. Bob is taking this very hard so please pray for him as well as for Kelly, Steven and the other son. (sorry, I can't think of his name at the moment)

If you would like to send a card of condolence please send to the same address I've given for well wishes cards. I'll be gone for Passover seder in Oklahoma from this afternoon until late tonight so if you need an address, PM me and I'll get it to you asap. (tomorrow)

Love y'all and thanks for caring about Harriet. She was a one of a kind friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Including me.

Gayle

Thank you, Gayle. I can also respond with the address if needed.

I'm sure Harriet is already enjoying herself at the ocean in NH.

I remember her first post that I tried to respond to...it was for "Chinese plum sauce." She couldn't find a brand she like after moving to Arizona and I researched a bunch of cookbooks. It led us to exchanging a bunch of other recipes.

Be happy, Harriet.

Oh my, another sadness. Harriet encouraged me while she too was struggling. such a friend.

Thank you for letting us know. She's in the big kitchen in the sky, I think, no longer "misplaced".

So very sad. She was so sweet and a member in good standing here at Finer Kitchens and formerly,

Gail's Recipe Swap.

Thanks for the news Gayle.
