Have a close friend who is looking for a recipe and I'd like to help her out. She described it as

"It was called Lemon Buttermilk Pudding. Had lemon curd/pudding on the bottom and a very light cake layer on top. It was creamy and tart. " Lots of pudding cake recipes out there but she's looking specifically for light cake and buttermilk.

Sounds like lemon pudding cakes. Here's one I posted and have made

many times. But sounds like you are wanting something else. Do you know if the curd and cake were separate components which were then assembled into a dessert? Or were they baked together becoming one dessert with separate layers?
