Have you ever wondered about those long straight tempura shrimp?

I mean where do they get them and how do they do that?

That is just one but I've been thinking about it a lot lately. I just wondered about something else and was going to post it and forgot it.

lol, just this moment walked in from dining at a Japanese restaurant and had the

tempura shrimp which indeed was quite straight. Sitting at the sushi bar in the past, and watching them prepare the shrimp for tempura, I watched them make a few incisions in the "belly" area and then they tugged at the shrimp gently from each end to straighten them.
