Haven't tried this trick for pealing whole heads of garlic from MS, but it looks interesting

It works, Charlie

You have to shake like crazy but for the most part the skins come off. I found that the garlic needs to be fairly sizable and fresh. Not all the skin comes off but pretty close. Leave it to Martha. I first tried this method about 3 years ago and still use it once in a while.

I'm thinking of a time when this method would come it real handy. When I...

...have to peel a TON of garlic for batch of pozole, or any of the chile sauces that end up pureed and pressed through a sieve so the little bits of stem ends and skins would be filtered out.

Thanks for the reminder, Charlie.

Another good method when doing just a few cloves is to submerge in a bit of water for a couple of...

minutes.

It takes the stickiness out and the peels come off rather easily.

Another method - no bowls to wash

I have not tried it, but have been told that putting the bulb/cloves in a jar with a lid and shaking achieves the same result.

That is amazing, I am going to try that today. I use lots of garlic and could do an entire head

and have it ready for use during the week.
