I will be doing these islands:

Saturna

Pender

Galiano

Gabriola

Thetis

Vancouver Island (cities around Nnaimo, Duncan, Cowachella Valley, Nanoose Bay...)

There really isn't anything where you're going. They are all tiny islands.

Well, I shouldn't say "nothing" as I don't know how note-worthy you're looking for. You can tell us when you return.

The Sooke Harbour House used to have a great reputation but the chef left for the big city. I've been to his new restaurant.

But you'll get lovely people, phenomenal sockeye salmon that is just in now, the spot prawns just finished but you may find some of them. Artisinal cheeses and scenery to blow your socks off.

Have fun.

The people and scenery are most important...can't wait!! Looking forward to picnics

With fresh cheeses, breads, etc. although the way the weather is looking, we may be doing indoor picnics smileys/irritated.gif

No no. this is perfect picnic weather. It is not hot but sunny. It will be only

about 70+ or so but the sun is wicked. Sunscreen. And yes. The scenery is really breathtaking. Bring binoculars.

Don't worry, forecasts are up in the air. I talked with someone tonight and a suggestion is on

Pender to go to the Poets' Cove Lodge. Dinner and a nice place to stay.

They all had the same response though. Not locations to be looking for great restaurants, "we like to cook in" while there.

Rain is actually needed here now so I'm betting there won't be much. It was 'supposed' to rain today, but not a drop.

I second Sooke Harbour House, off of Whiff and Spit road

Spent our honeymoon there many years ago

the Sturdies bay bakery cafe smileys/smile.gif it's in the little cluster of businesses right when you get off th

the ferry. The emporium is there, too - great eggs benedict!
