I loved this warm from the oven. As it cools, it has a dense crumb. Those who didn't try it warm...loved it. I still had that warm cake on my mind and half a cake left. Microwaving was okay, but what really did it for me? I buttered a slice on both sides and pan fried it (like a grilled cheese.) The outside browns and the inside turns moist and almost creamy.
