Dear friends, I want to include in a blog post something about Marilyn dyslexic sauce.... I cannot seem to find the original thread with the recipe, or at least the explanation behind the name

anyone care to enlighten me???

Great! Thanks SOOOO MUCH!

I will include the second link, from Joe's reply, as it seems to describe the whole experience

Marilyn, I should have a post up on Monday at midnight... Called "In My Kitchen"

thanks again for the wonderful gift, I am glad I took a photo when we got it, because of course it's loooong gone

Yes, I think that's the first one also. The reason it doesn't show up is the mispelling of

dyslexic. I found it because in a later post Marilyn mentions it was mispelled. It's one of those mispellings that doesn't jump out, at least it didn't to me.

Just in now....please be sure to emphasize that the original recipe has supersaturation issues!

It's fine when first made, but if constantly reheated, the sugar begins to crystallize. That's why the recipe has changed over the years, with Meryl's help in adding corn syrup.

Deb asked for a reduced version...let me find that for you.
Thank you for the compliment!

Here's a reduced version of Dyslexic sauce (about 1.25 cups)

Hey Sally. Actually, Marilyn's first post

was here http://www.finerkitchens.com/swap/forum1/56643_boy_I_hate_when_this_happens__One_of_your_posts_led_me_to_a_blog

Then I chimed in recommending our easy family favorite recipe for Dave's Hot Fudge Sauce here
http://www.finerkitchens.com/swap/forum1/56738_Curious_and_Marilyn_re_Moms_Hot_Fudge_Sauce_alternative

and it was that recipe and 9 pounds of Callebaut that exposed Marilyn's dyslexia and inspired (forced) her into developing the magnificent Marilyn's Dyslexic Chocolate Sauce - making so very, very many people happy (Thank-you, thank-you!) - when she substituted the more than double sized "large" 12 fl oz can of evaporated milk for the small 5 fl oz sized one specified in the recipe. Sally, I tried to PM you - can't

I am having the worst luck! My PM's do not go willingly.

I just saw this and I know that you're working on getting your blog post out today.

Love your dogs! So cute! I am heading to an Asian Market this upcoming weekend. Will add the

Nanami Togarashi to my list. Thanks for the tip!

If you find gobo (or burdock root), grab some too... smileys/wink.gif

.... I haven't cooked with it yet, but found this interesting root at the market and will use the pepper mix to make a very traditional Japanese recipe that uses carrots and burdock root.

Oh, what a sweetie pie! I bet he gets in trouble... I see the "look" in those eyes... smileys/wink.gif
