hello

Everyone must be in the kitchen. Here's my Thanksgiving gift to those

of you who are on the other side.....A really good laugh.

I know this is not the place for jokes, but this one works and after all, it's a special day.

Gift Parrot

A young man named John received a parrot as a gift. The parrot had a bad
attitude and an even worse vocabulary. Every word out of the bird's
mouth was rude, obnoxious and laced with profanity. John tried and tried
to change the bird's attitude by consistently saying only polite words,
playing soft music and anything else he could think of to "clean up" the
bird's vocabulary.

Finally, John was fed up and he yelled at the parrot. The parrot yelled
back. John shook the parrot and the parrot got angrier and even ruder.

John, in desperation, threw up his hand, grabbed the bird and put him in
the freezer.

For a few minutes the parrot squawked and kicked and screamed. Then
suddenly there was total quiet. Not a peep was heard for over a minute.

Fearing that he'd hurt the parrot, John quickly opened the door to the
freezer. The parrot calmly stepped out onto John's outstretched arms and
said, "I believe I may have offended you with my rude language and
actions.

I'm sincerely remorseful for my inappropriate transgressions and I fully
intend to do everything I can to correct my rude and unforgivable
behavior."

John was stunned at the change in the bird's attitude. As he was about
to ask the parrot what had made such a dramatic change in his behavior,
the bird continued, "May I ask what the turkey did?"

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

I know - I feel like they've all been invited to a birthday party and we've been left to play...

by ourselves. Maybe we should have invited them to our birthday parties ;o)

I'm here! I'm not doing too much for Thanksgiving - it's just my husband and me, and he's

going to do the whole thing tomorrow all by himself! This is a rare occasion - he cooks about 6 times a year, but he does a lot of the prep and most of the clean-up most of the time.
We're not turkey people, so we're doing a roast chicken with caramelized onions, mashed potatoes, etc.

Too funny, Marg! Thanks for the laugh. I'm turkey girl tomorrow...

but will check in b/c it's just the three of us, so it will be quiet.

Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Hey Andrea, got your PM, but couldn't send a reply or a new PM either. So, wanted to say thanks for

the Holiday wishes, and a Very Happy Thanksgiving to you, too!

Hey Ruth, are you in the U.S. or Canada? If you're in Canada, I think I was a little late in wishing

you a Happy Thanksgiving! smileys/smile.gif (Tried to send you a PM, but of course it didn't go through).

Yes - I'm up in the "Great White North".

Well....white, anyway. It's snowing very prettily at the moment...Christmas looms smileys/surprise.gif

Thanks for the well wishes! I have to confess, I spent most of my life assuming we shared the same Thanksgiving days - ours, that is ;o)

I hope you and your DH share a wonderful Thanksgiving together!

Hey Meryl...

Must admit that I made everything from scratch except dessert. I had to sub at my daughter's school this week and ran short on time. But I got a fabulous pumpkin roll with pumpkin filling at the local bakery which I will try to recreate. How about you?

Hi Andrea, I didn't make a thing. I have so many homemade desserts in the freezer, so I

just took out two slices of Mexican Chocolate Icebox Cake, one of my favorites. The best part of the whole dinner was I didn't do ANY of the cooking for a change!
