HELP! Can raw shredded zucchini be frozen without blanching?

I saw an article yesterday but can't remember where.

They shredded, lightly salted, let stand 30 minutes or so, rinsed, let drain well. Then they used a cup measure to put individual dollops on a cookie sheet, froze, the put in freezer bags. They said then it was ready to use in zucchini bread or whatever you baked it in.

 
I've done this but you only need to sweat the zukes if they are big

If you have small to medium zukes you don't need to salt them. With really large zukes they get watery when frozen then thawed.
