Help making a sweet glaze without milk

I'm bringing an apple cake to friends on Friday and I usually glaze it with a mixture of powdered sugar, cream and cinnamon. However, I can't use any dairy for this dinner. Can I glaze with powdered sugar and water? (this may be a ridiculously dumb questions

Water, or use apple juice

Yes, and you can buy it in the flavored variety for extra taste

Apple juice or lemon juice as already noted or orange juice.M's suggestion of caramel sounds great.

I vote for apple juice as well. Maybe even applejack or hard cider.

You could also add a little orange zest to the glaze to enhance the orange flavor.
