Richard, I ran across an old post from GRS where you claimed you couldn't

make "real" cornbread because you didn't have a jersey cow to clabber its cream into butter...or was it buttermilk?

Whichever....you NOW have a COW! Or at least part of a cow. And I'm assuming you can get fresh cream from whatever part of the cow you own. Will you try the cornbread recipe with the new family addition?

You are too funny. Yes, I saved a cup of milk out of the first gallon, set it out to clabber, and put the thick clabbered milk into stone ground cornmeal, poured it into the hot black iron skillet slicked with bacon grease and baked it to deep golden brown perfection.

Next week, I crumbled in some stilton to gild the lilly.

It's the simple things.
