also broil mode, I'm worried these may stop functioning too.....

WHAT??? can I do? There isn't a fix-it man for the oven (or I haven't found one yet) as I brought it on-island myself from Italy????

I've had it 2 years now.

Joanie, why not try & make contact with the manufacturer

online, and see if they can offer you a suggestion.

When you say that it is working in normal mode do you mean

that it heats, but the fan has stopped working? If so, you could ask a repair shop in your area if they can replace a defective fan. Most of them can do that if they can get the right sized fan.

I'm hoping a mega yacht crew can come and check out the oven, only person so far I've found!.....

poop! And here I was telling Mum the trails and tribulations of the other oven I had and how I lost on that deal and how great it is to have an oven now that "works".
Shouldn't have said that, I 'spose!

????Tonight I thought "*** it' I can't have the oven playing up and so turned on the convection roas

stroked the door sweetly saying "I know you had a wee hiccup last evening but PLEASE work now" and turned it up to 400. It heated up and then I turned it to convection bake????
Still working.
Who knows what is going on but keeping fingers crossed it doesn't happen again.

Joanie, I don't have a convection oven, but seem to remember a similar...

occurance when using someone else's oven. I believe that the convection feature did not work below 375F. Maybe someone with more experience with a convection (than myself) can verify this?

Or...it could just be that your oven has been feeling neglected lately and needs some sweet persuasion now and then ;o)

Good luck!

Joanie, is it a gas oven? And does it have an electrical ignitor? (not a pilot light)

After months of talking nicely to the oven and praying that it would behave today (sometimes it lit right up, sometimes it took a while, sometimes a long while) the THIRD repairman simply replaced the ignitor. They get tired, (the ignitors, not the repairmen) so that they're heating up but not quite hot enough. It's a simple task if you can get the piece.
