as I do with dark chocolate and add a little bit of shortening and spread on cookie sheet and put in freezer for just a bit? Am making the Lemon truffle cake and so far so good. The lemon filling is so good and with each stage, it just gets better tasting. 1st the lemon pudding, then the lemon pudding with white chocolate, then the lemon pudding with white chocolate and cream cheese. My hubby has sampled each step and I'm going to have to put it in my neighbors garage fridge he will not be able to handle the temptation, to tell the truth I don't think I will either!

You should be able to do that. Even though it's not actually chocolate, it should set up the same.

In my experience, white chocolate is a little more sensitive to heat so be careful about thinning it too much otherwise, it'll melt at body temperature and you'll just have a mess of goo. Let us know how it works out. Oh and save ME a piece, will you?

I melted 6oz. of chocolate in a double boiler added 1/2 tsp of shortening put it on a small cake pan

in the freezer for what I thought would be a few mins and promptly forgot about it till it came time to spread frosting on the cake. I just shaved the chocolate on the top. This cake was a real show stopper! The filling was so good! I made the cake yesterday and filled it. Left it in the fridge overnight. Frosted it a few hours before serving. I put whole strawberries around the top edge of the cake. It was a lot of steps but well worth it. Thanks Olga for the recipe!
